SHAUNA TAKES CONTROL AND VIVID ROLLS OUT THE DVD -- Vivid this week released the "Shauna Sand Exposed" DVD after Ms. Sand withdrew her threat of a lawsuit to block its distribution.

News of her decision sped through cyber-world like wildfire after TMZ.com got hold of the story that began: ?Nothing can stop Shauna Sand's sex tape from hitting the shelves now -- and it's all because Shauna has finally given the XXX flick her Lucite stamp of approval.? The movie is now available in stores across the country and online at www.shopvivid.com. Ms. Sand?s decision was the latest chapter in a saga that saw her attorney threaten to sue Vivid to block release of the video, which shows her having steamy sex with her ex-boyfriend. Steven Hirsch, co-chairman of Vivid, said he met with Ms. Sand in his office last Thursday. "We showed her the documents we had received from a third party that were authenticated by a handwriting expert and explained that we remained comfortable that we had the right to distribute the video. Shauna said she wanted to consult with her attorney and would get back to us the following day." Ms. Sand called back on Friday and agreed not to pursue a lawsuit. She said she was instructing her attorney to withdraw a ?cease and desist? letter sent to Vivid earlier. Meanwhile, Steven said, interest in the video is building on the part of consumers and the adult video retail sales community. "We've got as much interest in this video as we have had in any of our other Vivid-Celeb titles, including Kim Kardashian, Jimi Hendrix and Pamela Anderson."

AXEL BRAUN/VIVID SET FOR BATMAN XXX PARODY --

Director Axel Braun says he will start production in a few weeks for Batman XXX: a Porn Parody, his erotic spoof of the campy 60?s TV show. It?s the first feature from Axel Braun Productions to be distributed by Vivid Entertainment and is scheduled for release on Jan. 13, 2010.

Says Braun:

?This project is very important to me. Not only because I grew up religiously watching the TV series, but also because it?s the first one in my output deal with Vivid, and I want every detail to be absolutely perfect. I took my time to find the perfect cast. I auditioned just about every top actor in the industry, and I have to say it wasn?t an easy task. Everybody wanted to be a part of this, and they all came very well-prepared."

Ultimately he chose Nick Manning for the lead role of Batman; Kris Slater landed the part of Robin; Evan Stone was cast as The Riddler; Randy Spears as The Joker; Nicole Ray as Batgirl; and Tori Black as Catwoman. There will also be some high-profile cameos in the non-sex roles. The production has already generated media buzz, including a 10-minute conversation on The Howard Stern Show on Friday. Stern said he wanted to attend the movie?s premiere party.

AJ BAILEY WRITES FOR XCRITIC.COM -- Vivid Girl AJ Bailey has signed to write a monthly fantasy sex column for xcritic.com. The new feature called "Sex Secrets with AJ Bailey" starts Monday, Nov. 2. Says AJ:

Earlier, back in California, Vivid Girls Nikki Jayne and Meggan Mallone joined featured spinner DJ "R Man" and were hosts of Erotic Horror Night at the popular Japanese restaurant/club Maikobe, in Old Town Pasadena. The party got underway at 9pm on Wednesday night, October 28th.
